13 Sept 2017 Super Scarecrow Street Result 2017
Thank you all for taking part in “Super Scarecrow Street”
The collective number of Scarecrows made by the 10 participating groups was an amazing 140. Last year the total number for the whole of Bothwell was 460.
So no matter about the results; you have all made a huge impact on our community. Many of you already experience the interest shown by residents and visitors, with people walking and driving to view your Scarecrows.
This Festival is yet another reason why Bothwell is a special place; why people want to live here.
It was a very challenging job to choose the three best entries, and our judges have done their best to make it a rational selection.
The following words describe the criteria they used.
“As community involvement is the essence of the festival assessment is therefore based on the following criteria
- Level of participation by street /group.
- Variety of scarecrows,
- A unique aspect.”
The three winning entries are:-
- Hamilton Drive
- Douglas Drive
- Rosemount Meadows
They will each receive a Hamper to help with their celebrations.
To those of you who didn’t win – a big thank you for taking part. We hope you will try again next year.
Harry Marsh
Chairman of Scarecrow Festival Committee
