How do I get tickets for the events?
To see the latest information about tickets please visit the Tickets page. Tickets for some events will also be available at some of the venues prior to the event. Availability is limited due to seating capacity of the venues so please get your ticket in plenty of time since they are sold on a first come basis.
What kind of scarecrow should I build?
Everyone will have their own ideas about what to build, just set your imagination free. Large or small, short or tall, anything goes. Just nothing indecent or scary please – the children will be watching!!
How do I build my scarecrow?
That’s simple – just come along to a Scarecrow Workshop and/or view the information and videos on the Build a Scarecrow page of this website for lots of ideas. Straw and wood are available to you for a small cost. Please contact us for more details.
Is there a prize for the Best Scarecrow?
The volunteers who make up the Scarecrow Festival planning team discussed this idea at length. As everyone puts so much effort into their display they felt it would be nigh on impossible to single any out for an individual prize. However we have introduced a SUPER SCARECROW STREET award, so get together with your neighbours and set yourself up to win that competition. Could be great fun!
There are also new prizes this year, for the Best Dressed Scarecrows in the Parade (one adult, one child).
Why are some events free while there’s a charge for others?
Although the vast majority of events are free, there are some overheads we need to pay for, like professional artistes, portaloos, the hire of venues. Where there is a charge, please rest assured that it has been pitched as low as possible to cover costs like this.
How can I volunteer to help with the Scarecrow Festival?
Help is always needed. Please drop us an email with your details and we’ll get back to you asap.
